They had visited their Mother, Clan Mother Maisie at the hospital and were in a serious car accident on their way home. They were almost killed as a young man hit their car which then would have gone straight down a sheer drop had a guardrail not been there! Airbags were deployed and their daughters were bruised but are OK. Vicky has been unable to work due to her neck injuries, and lost her unpaid for van (the insurance didn't pay for the full amount of the car loan!) Danielle had rotator cuff surgery 2 weeks ago and is experiencing complications and severe pain. She cannot use her hands due to this. She cannot teach or bead either. Please continue to spread the word about their struggle in NY: Oneida Indian Nation-Business has "taken away their voices" (only done for rape and murder!) None of the Fourteen families who were "silenced" and who lost their Tribal Status, and homes (on the only 32 acres actually owned by The Oneida; the OIN-Business is trying to get "Land into Trust" for more control of land, money, Casino, and more with great opposition by Upstate Citizens for Equality; the BIA site has the info but it's hard to find), for their Traditional Ways, committed any crime. It is unclear if OIN-Business still gets Federal Money for the People whose homes were bulldozed and arrests made, breaking Federal law by taking the Trads to Cambria Prison in PA! These arrests are still made, especially against the sons and daughters of the Plaintiffs in the Court case, and they are taken to Cambria Co. Prison, PA by OIN-Business, since NY will not house The People who are targets/arrested in this "political" mess. The Oneida Traditional Indians should be restored to their proper status and the illegal Men's Council (untraditional) abolished as per Tradition...
